Leaders Club – Our Leaders Club program will replace the traditional Junior Leaders Program.  We valued the Junior Leaders program so much that we think it should be available to each and every student from 7th grade to 12th.

Leaders Club is a national YMCA program that thousands of Jr. and High School kids participate in each year.  The focus of the program is to build leadership skills by strengthening communication skills, knowledge of current events and global issues and hands on involvement with fundraising and event management.

Community Service – Participate in Guymon Days, host booths at fairs, volunteer at schools for peer mentoring of school-aged kids in various subjects and activities.

Rallies – Because Leaders Club is a national program, there are 100’s of clubs doing the same things in different areas.  About once a season we will attend a rally where everyone gets together on a college campus or large YMCA facility and spends a weekend in group games, skill building classes, sports, social events, and guest speakers.

Fundraising – We will host fun events like a Battle of the Bands, but we’ll work in conjunction with another charity such as the Breast Cancer Society.  So we might call it something like the Pretty in Pink Battle of the Bands where local talent gets to show off and we’ll charge five bucks at the door.  Half of the money we raise goes to the charity we were helping and then the rest goes in the piggy bank.

Also, there are a lot of charities out there and each of them have a foundation as well as activities for raising money such as 5k runs, poker runs, or golf tournaments.  Our goal is to volunteer at these events and activities as well as participate.  For example, if we were to walk or run in a Breast Cancer Benefit 5k we would get people to sponsor us.  Half of the money we raise goes to the Breast Cancer Society and the other half we put in the piggy bank.

Trips – So, the money we have left in the piggy bank we will use to plan, schedule, and take a road trip for fun activities like white water rafting, rock climbing, shopping, eating out, movies and concerts.  A job well done is greatly rewarded.
